October 2020, during the “lockdown” and quarantine enforced period of the Covid 19 pandemic, I proposed to paint a mural on the local laundromat around the corner from my home, in Astoria, Queens, NY. The generous family who owns and operates Bright and Clean Laundromat agreed, and I invited their twelve year old son to assist me, and he agreed to. I love to teach art and share the joy of it with people. Because public schools were closed during the painting of this mural, other children who live in the same neighborhood as the laundromat would stop by to inspect the painting. I invited every person who was interested to join me in painting. When the mural was completed no less than ten different children had helped with painting this artwork.
