Median Nerve Stretch (self portrait), Acrylic Paint on concrete. 18” X 18” X 1.5”. 2021

This artwork was made for the exhibition: “Day Job”, curated by Li Ming Hu at the Flux Factory House on Governor’s Island, 2021. The self portrait of my hands are painted stretching the median tendon that runs from the neck to the wrists. I do this stretch to alleviate pain and swelling I feel from years of repetitive movements that occur doing manual labor work. The painting is made on a cement slab that broke off from a ceiling during a job that I worked on.
