On Fridays from June through October of 2022, the Queensbridge Free Art Workshops took place for their second year. These art workshops focus on providing free, creative space, with art materials, to any Queensbridge community member who is available to participate. The art workshops, open to all ages, take place on the street outside of the Queensbridge community center. The 2022 workshops welcomed guest artists who organized their own workshops like dramatic writing and activist art workshops. Participants of the Big Sky Art Workshops also attended the Queensbridge Free Art Workshops over the course of the summer months. Projects we completed together were: book binding, bird house carpentry, a halloween painting exhibition, and more. 0100 copies of a book archiving the years projects was also made and handed out to the participants of the workshops and their families.
Funding for the 2022 Free Art Workshops was provided in part by Queens Council on the Arts: Arts Access Grant, and Fiscally sponsored by Flux Factory.
